Striders of Croydon faced strong opposition in the South of the Thames Cross-Country Championships at Richmond Park on Saturday. Their best performance came from Taylor Huggins who placed 78th of the 205 finishers, covering the 12-kilometre course in 51 minutes 05 seconds. Ernie Hann, from Striders of Croydon, continued his preparations for the Portsmouth Marathon by placing second out of 87 finishers in the weekly parkrun in Lloyd Park on Saturday. He covered the muddy five-kilometre course in 20 minutes 03 seconds. Club colleague Paul Cripps was 11th in 22 minutes 07. Meanwhile Steve Winter was second

Steph Upton, from Striders of Croydon, ran very well to place 26th of 173 finishers in the Surrey Womens Cross-Country League Division Two race at Nonsuch Park on Saturday. She covered the four-mile course in 28 minutes 10 seconds. Andrea Jeffries also ran well to place 50th (30.30) with Stephanie Moss next home in 68th
Due to the club Christmas Party starting at 7 p.m (and food being served from 8 p.m.) we will not be organising a club run on the same night. If you turn up and decide to run that’s up to you.
