Striders of Croydon had three of the first ten women to finish the Croydon 10K road race on Sunday. Niamh Vincent ran well to be the fifth woman to finish, recording 44 minutes 04 seconds. 57-year-old Dave Shaw, from Striders of Croydon, had an excellent run in the Yorkshire Marathon on Sunday, He finished 109th overall in a field of more than 4300 runners, and recorded a lifetime best of 2 hours 50 minutes 31 seconds. This is a new Striders over-55 club record and lifts him to eleventh place
Striders of Croydon produced a good team performance to place fifth in their first Surrey Womens Cross-Country League Division Two match of the season, at Reigate on Saturday. They were led by Jenny Rowe who ran well to place 24th of the 217 finishers, completing the undulating four-mile course in 29 minutes 16 seconds. Steph
Rachel Lindley, from Striders of Croydon, had an outstanding run in the Chester Marathon on Sunday. She was the fourth woman to finish, setting a new club over-35 record of 3 hours 06 minutes 02 seconds, and lifting her to second place in the club’s all-time women’s rankings.
