Striders of Croydon faced strong opposition in their penultimate Surrey Cross-Country League matches of the season on Saturday. Their men had to settle for ninth place in their match at Richmond Park. They were led by James Rhodes who ran well to place 49th of the 166 finishers, completing the five-mile course in 30 minutes

Striders of Croydon faced strong opposition in the Surrey Cross-Country Championships, held at Denbies Vineyard, near Dorking on Sunday. Their men’s team did well to place eleventh. Striders of Croydon had several good performances in the New Year’s Day parkruns. Robert Lines ran well to place first out of 95 finishers in the Riddlesdown parkrun, recording 20 minutes 32. James Rhodes was second out of 106 finishers in the South Norwood parkrun (18:53), while Niamh Vincent was the first woman to finish,
