Striders of Croydon produced some good performances in their final Southern Veterans League match of the season, at Wimbledon on Monday. Steve Corfield won the M60 100 metres (14.1), the M60 400 metres (62.2) and the M60 mile (5:25.8). All three of these were new club age-group records. Paul Cripps won the M50 100 metres

Striders of Croydon had 12 finishers in the Elmore 7-mile road race at Chipstead on Saturday, which was the fifth race in this year’s Surrey Road League. They were led by Tatsuya Okamoto who ran well to place 14th in 40 minutes 33. Martin Filer was 19th (41:13), Andrew Aitken 21st (41:25) and Conor O’Hara-Barrett

Ally Whitlock, from Striders of Croydon, ran very well to be the third woman to finish the  Wendover Woods 100-mile race on Saturday. She placed seventh overall, completing the hilly course in 29 hours 44 minutes 57. Only 13 of the 30 starters finished. Earlier on Saturday, Striders had 24 finishers in the Bethlem Royal

James Rhodes, from Striders of Croydon, celebrated his 31st birthday by taking first place out of 162 finishers in the South Norwood parkrun on Saturday, completing the five-kilometre course in 18 minutes 13.
