    Striders of Croydon faced strong opposition in the South of the Thames Cross-Country Championship at Tonbridge on Saturday. They were led by Andrew Aitken who placed 69th of the 166 finishers, completing the muddy and undulating 12-kilometre course in 55 minutes 49.     Striders of Croydon had two of the first three finishers in the Riddlesdown parkrun on Saturday morning. Martin Filer placed second out of 77 parkrunners (21:17) while Stephen Kennefick was third (21:27).     Daniel Finch, from Striders of Croydon, ran very well to place second out of 47 finishers in the Bethlem Royal Hospital parkrun on Saturday, completing the very wet five-kilometre course in 21 minutes 20.     Striders of Croydon produced some good performances against strong opposition in the British Masters 5K road running championships, at Battersea on Sunday morning. Tatsuya Okamoto ran very well to place second in the M40 age-group (16:19). Striders’ M60 team all ran very well to place third in their team event. Steve Corfield was 12th (17:54)
