Striders run well at parkrun
Alastair Falconer, from Striders of Croydon, ran well to place second out of 102 finishers in the Riddlesdown parkrun on Saturday, completing the five-kilometre course in 18 minutes 04 seconds. He also placed fourth of 46 finishers in the annual Pirie 10-mile cross-country race on Farthing Downs last week, recording 59 minutes 30 seconds. Tatsuya Okamoto was fifth (61:41), while Krzysztof Klidzia ran well to place first in the over-50 category and eighth overall (64:49). Robert Zietz placed second in the over-60 category and 17th overall (74:57).
Simon Ambrosi placed second out of 132 finishers in the Bethlem Royal Hospital parkrun on Saturday (19:05). Bill Beattie was third in the South Norwood parkrun (20:27), while John Punt was third in the Aldenham parkrun (21:05) and Keith Murkin was fourth in the Groe parkrun (21:07). Jodie Gray was the third woman to finish the Crystal Palace parkrun, placing 21st overall (21:11). Becky Laurence was the fourth woman to finish the Riddlesdown parkrun, placing 24th overall (24:30). Niamh Vincent was the fourth woman to finish the South Norwood parkrun, placing 32nd overall (23:55). Selena Wong was the fourth woman to finish the Lloyd parkrun, placing 36th overall (25:19). Striders had a total of 76 finishers in the various weekly parkruns.
