5km’s & parkruns

Andrew Aitken ran well to place 41st out of 191 finishers in the Sri Chinmoy five-kilometre road race at Battersea Park on Monday, recording 17 minutes 32 seconds. Club colleague Ellyw Evans was the 29th woman to finish (22:32), while Darren Woods was 136th (21:45).

On Saturday, Striders had the first two finishers in the Bethlem Royal Hospital parkrun, where Justin Macenhill took first place (19:29), just three seconds ahead of Steve Corfield (19:32). Anna O’Sullivan was the first woman to finish the Salcey Forest parkrun, placing 29th overall (24:14). Erik Schrijnemaekers was second out of 231 finishers in the Kingston parkrun (18:31), while Jay Lidbetter was second out of 108 finishers in the Riddlesdown parkrun (18:51). Lucy Finch was the third woman to finish the Hoblingwell parkrun, placing 23rd overall (28:17). John Punt was fourth in the Kingdom parkrun at Penshurst in Kent (21:08). Striders had 87 finishers in the various weekly parkruns.

In the RunThrough Wimbledon Common Half-Marathon, Louise Grech was the 95th woman to finish, recording 2 hours 08 minutes 25.
