London Marathon
Striders of Croydon had an impressive total of 26 finishers in the TCS London Marathon on Sunday. They were led by Conor O’Hara-Barrett who ran very well to finish in a personal best 2 hours 54 minutes 50, lifting him to 29th place in Striders’ all-time club rankings. He was followed by Harry Madgwick-Lawton (2:56:13), Simone Luciani (2:58:39), Liam Redmond (3:00:07), Tom Gillespie (3:06:46), Luke Burden (3:08:43), Graeme Drysdale (3:11:36) and Mike Sawh (3:26:39). Striders’ first female finisher was Karen McNulty, who finished in 3:30:12. She was followed by Jennifer Gutteridge (3:34:02), Vicki Ledgard (3:38:13), Matthew Bollington (3:49:40),Tim Johnson (3:49:44), Paul Cripps (3:57:46), Stephen Siu (4:08:01), Beth Hutchings (4:11:06), Nikki Javan (4:19:34), Maria Gabriel (4:23:15), Chris Codner (4:28:48), Ana Jimenez (4:53:11), Dean Carslake (5:18:21), Kate Gray (5:28:52), Sharon Elliott (5:36:23), Annabel Crouch (5:41:46), Neil McDonough (5:47:12) and Richard Mann (6:10:52). Also on Sunday, Matthew Byrne finished the Vienna Marathon in 4:18:20.
In the Podium 5K at Dulwich on Saturday, Phil Coales ran well to finish in 16 minutes 06. He was followed by Tatsuya Okamoto (16:23) and Andrew Aitken (17:20).
Earlier on Saturday, Striders had a total of 112 finishers in the various weekly parkruns. Marc Burrows was first out of 156 finishers in the Brixworth parkrun in Northamptonshire (19:32). Lee Flanagan was second out of 187 finishers in the Lloyd parkrun (19:34), with Robert Lines third (19:40) and Steve Corfield fourth (20:06). James Rhodes was third out of 155 finishers in the South Norwood parkrun (18:48), while Niamh Vincent was the second female finisher (21:42) and Ellyw Evans was the third female finisher (22:54). Simon McHardy was third out of 296 finishers in the Bognor Regis parkrun (19:44).
