South of the Thames Cross-Country
Striders of Croydon had five competitors in the South of the Thames Cross-Country Association’s five-mile inter-club race, held in windy conditions at West Horsley on Saturday. Unfortunately, the results were not available at the time of writing.
Earlier in the day, Rachel Lindley was the first woman to finish the Thonock Lane Farm parkrun in Lincolnshire, placing fourth overall out of 75 finishers (21:27). Sam Ban placed first out of 20 finishers in the Salmon Creek Trail parkrun in Washington State (23:07). Niamh Vincent was the second woman to finish the South Norwood parkrun, placing 14th overall out of 134 finishers (22:32), while Charlotte Nusca was the third woman to finish, placing 16th overall (22:44) and Angela Seesurrun was the fourth woman to finish, placing 39th overall (25:41). In the Lloyd parkrun, Lee Flanagan was second out of 142 finishers (20:06) with Steve Corfield fourth (20:44), while Cindy Siu was the third woman to finish, placing 33rd overall (25:50). Martin Filer was second out of 84 finishers in the Riddlesdown parkrun (20:13), while Becky Laurence was the third woman to finish, placing 32nd overall (27:51). Jadwiga Brzask-Makiela was the third woman to finish the Park Lipowy parkrun in Poland, placing 17th overall on the snow-covered course (36:39). Striders had a total of 90 finishers in the various weekly parkruns.
Also on Saturday, John Stokes-Whittaker placed 15th in the M45 age-group in the RunThrough Battersea Half-Marathon (1:42:09). On Sunday, Lee Roberts completed the Kingston Half-Marathon in 1:54:23.
In the Lloyd junior parkrun on Sunday morning, Caleb Macenhill ran well to place second out of 53 finishers (9:23) while Daniel Williams was third (9:24). Zoe Siu was the first female finisher, placing sixth overall (9:48).
