Neil and Clare are the stars at Switchback race
Striders of Croydon hosted their 22nd annual Switchback cross-country race, over an undulating five-mile course in Lloyd Park and Addington Hills on Sunday. The race was won by Neil Reissland of Collingwood in 29 minutes 17, while the first woman was Clare Elms of Dulwich in 31 minutes 36. Striders’ Rachel Lindley ran very well to be the second woman to finish, placing 15th overall in 32 minutes 51. Striders’ men were led by Ernie Hann who finished eleventh (32.23). Chris Morton was 12th (32.27) with Simon Webster 17th (33.06) and Gearoid Quigley 20th (33.38). Steph Upton was the eighth woman to finish and was second in the over-45 category, placing 47th overall (37.42).
