Simon breaks 18 minutes to claim runners-up spot
Simon Ambrosi, from Striders of Croydon, ran well to place second out of 424 finishers in the Bromley parkrun on Saturday, covering the five-kilometre course in 17 minutes 59 seconds. Club colleague Graeme Drysdale was fifth (18.41) and Lee Wadsworth was sixth (18.54).
On the same day Krzysztof Klidzia was third in the weekly parkrun at Lloyd Park (18.20) with Lee Flanagan fourth (18.34). Matt Morgan was sixth in the Alice Holt parkrun (19.51) and Serena Stracey was the third woman to finish the Gateshead parkrun (21.33). Striders had a total of 46 finishers in the various weekly parkruns.
Meanwhile Andy Perks finished 17th in the South Downs Marathon, completing the undulating course in 3 hours 45 minutes 49 seconds.
