Rachel sets new record for Striders at Lloyd Park
Rachel Lindley, from Striders of Croydon, had an excellent run in the 250th Lloyd parkrun on Saturday. She was the first woman to finish, placing fourth overall and setting a new women’s course record of 18 minutes 51 seconds. The only three men to finish ahead of her were all Striders. Ernie Hann won in 18 minutes 08 seconds, just three seconds ahead of club colleague Lee Flanagan, with veteran Krzysztof Klidzia third in 18 minutes 46. Striders also had the second woman to finish with Zoe Williams placing 47th overall in 23 minutes 48. Meanwhile Dan Jewell won the Riddlesdown parkrun in 17 minutes 41 seconds, while Simon Ambrosi was fifth in the Bromley parkrun (18.03). Striders had a total of 49 finishers at the various weekly parkruns (34 at Lloyd Park and 15 at other venues).
