Simone breaks 17 minute barrier for Striders
Striders of Croydon had some good performances in the weekly parkrun at Lloyd Park on Saturday. Simone Luciani led the way, being the first finisher in 16 minutes 59 seconds, which was his fastest time on this course and was 47 seconds ahead of his nearest rival. Simon Ambrosi was third (18.50) with Justin Macenhill close behind in fifth (18.54). Serena Stracey was the second woman to finish, placing 26th overall in 22 minutes 47. On the same day Graeme Drysdale was second in the Riddlesdown parkrun (19.01). A day later Graeme ran well to finish 16th in the Vanguard Way Marathon, covering the hilly course in 4 hours 9 minutes 30 seconds. Striders had a total of 49 finishers in the various weekly parkruns (22 at Lloyd Park and 27 at other venues).
