Matthew shows potential for Striders with PB
Striders of Croydon gained a double win at the weekly parkrun in Lloyd Park on Saturday. Veteran Krzysztof Klidzia was the first man home, covering the undulating five-kilometre course in 18 minutes 40, while Rachel Lindley was the first woman to finish, placing fourth overall in 20 minutes 16. Another notable run came from 15-year-old Matthew Ostrowski, who placed 12th overall in a personal best 21 minutes 19.
On the same day, James Bennett won the Dulwich parkrun in 16 minutes 06, with Lee Flanagan sixth in 17 minutes 39. Taric Matticks was 14th in the Herne Hill 10000 metres, which incorporated the Surrey Championship, recording 41 minutes 13.88 seconds. Graeme Drysdale was fourth in the Riddlesdown parkrun (18.44) while Josephine Thompson was the second woman to finish, placing 27th overall in 21 minutes 50. Simon Ambrosi was fifth in the Bromley parkrun (18.17). Striders had a total of 59 finishers in the various weekly parkruns (26 at Lloyd Park and 33 at other venues).
