Simon just beats Krzysztof in Boxing Day challenge
Simon Ambrosi, of Striders of Croydon, ran well to place third in the Boxing Day parkrun at Lloyd Park, covering the very muddy course in 20 minutes 33 seconds. He was just one place and one second ahead of club colleague Krzysztof Klidzia, who was first in the over-50 category. Meanwhile Taric Matticks was fourth in the Fulham parkrun (18.46), Steve Starvis was fourth in the Crystal Palace parkrun (19.36) and Graeme Drysdale was fourth in the Riddlesdown parkrun (21.44). One of Striders’ youngest members, Lucy Finch, was the fourth woman at Riddlesdown, placing 20th overall (24.26). Striders had a total of 47 finishers in the various Boxing Day parkruns (20 at Lloyd Park and 27 at other venues).
Both Ambrosi and Klidzia had also run well a day earlier in the Christmas Day parkrun at Lloyd Park, when Striders had three of the first six finishers. Lee Flanagan was fourth overall and first in the over-40 category (19.36), while Simon Ambrosi was fifth (20.00), and Krzysztof Klidzia was sixth overall and first in the over-50 category (20.05).
