Peter’s half marathon places him second in all-time Striders list
Peter Mills, from Striders of Croydon, continued his good form to place 41st in a field of more than 10,000 runners in the Reading Half-Marathon on Sunday, recording a new personal best of 72 minutes 10 seconds, which lifts him to second place in Striders’ all-time club rankings. Club colleague Michael Stewart ran 82 minutes 14 seconds.
On the same day Krzysztof Klidzia ran very well to set a club over-50 record of 78 minutes 26 seconds in the Paddock Wood Half-Marathon, placing second in his age-group and 34th overall in a field of more than 2000 runners. Club colleague Graeme Drysdale placed 76th (83.45) while Martin Filer was 89th (84.55).
The previous day Becky Laurence was the second woman to finish the Roundshaw parkrun, placing 17th overall in 22 minutes 34. Simon Ambrosi was third in the weekly parkrun in Lloyd Park, covering the undulating five-kilometre course in 19 minutes 20 seconds, while Selena Wong was the fifth woman to finish, placing 57th overall (24.26). Striders had a total of 54 finishers in the various weekly parkruns (22 at Lloyd Park and 32 at other venues).
