Dave Finton and Andy Perks represent Striders at Aldershot
Two members of Striders of Croydon ran well against strong opposition in the South of the Thames Cross-Country Championship at Aldershot on Saturday. David Vinton placed 104th of the 229 finishers, covering the seven-mile course in 47 minutes 42 seconds, while club colleague Andy Perks was 115th (48.34). Earlier in the day Tatsuya Okamoto placed second at the Riddlesdown parkrun, recording 17 minutes 15, while Lee Flanagan was third at the Lloyd parkrun (19.15). Selena Wong was the third woman to finish the Riddlesdown parkrun (23.34), while Debra Bourne was the third woman to finish the Lloyd parkrun (24.49). Striders had a total of 51 finishers at the various weekly parkruns (25 at Lloyd Park and 26 at other venues).
On the following day Darren Woods ran well to place 13th out of 432 finishers in the Greenwich Park 10-kilometre race, recording 41 minutes 18 seconds. Club colleague Sophia Sachedina was the 23rd woman to finish, recording 50 minutes 56.
