Martin Filer, from Striders of Croydon, ran very well to place seventh out of 141 finishers in the Bewl Water Trail Half-Marathon. He was also the second over-40 to finish, recording 94 minutes 03 seconds. On the same day veteran Keith Simpson was 56th out of 103 finishers in the Fox Marathon in Godalming, recording
Keith Simpson, from Striders of Croydon, ran very well to be the first over-70 to finish the Andover Trail Marathon. He placed 50th overall (out of 120 finishers), completing the undulating course in 4 hours 33 minutes 23 seconds. His club colleague James Rhodes produced another lifetime best performance at Battersea Park on Tuesday evening.
Debra Bourne, from Striders of Croydon, ran well to be the 12th woman to finish the Chiltern 50-mile race on Saturday. She was second in the women’s over-50 category and 78th overall (out of 209 finishers), recording 9 hours 56 minutes 42 seconds. On the same day James Rhodes competed in the South London Harriers
James Rhodes, from Striders of Croydon, produced another very good run in the South London Athletics Network Open Meeting at Tooting on Saturday. He ran the 800 metres in a new personal best of 2 minutes 09.45 seconds, placing fifth in his heat. At the same venue three days earlier, in the Herne Hill Harriers
James Rhodes, from Striders of Croydon, produced another excellent run to win his heat of the 400 metres at the Blackheath & Bromley Open Meeting, at Norman Park on Saturday. He recorded a new lifetime best of 58.86 seconds, finishing just one-hundredth of a second ahead of the runner-up, Arthur Starvis of Blackheath.
Two members of Striders of Croydon competed in the Belgrave Harriers Endurance Night series of 3000 metre races at Battersea Park on Wednesday. James Rhodes placed 32nd overall (out of 48 competitors) in a lifetime best of 9 minutes 58.64 seconds, while club colleague Andrew Aitken was 35th in 10 minutes 13.04.
Kara Boaks, from Striders of Croydon, had an excellent run to be the first woman to finish the Vanguard Way Marathon, starting and finishing in Lloyd Park. She placed 13th overall, completing the hilly course in 4 hours 33 minutes 03 seconds. Her club colleague Rachel Lindley was the second woman to finish, placing 19th

Susan Haynes, from Striders of Croydon, became the first Strider to complete a parkrun since the coronavirus lockdown began in March, when she competed in the Lower Hutt parkrun in New Zealand on Saturday. Susan was the fourteenth woman to finish, placing 84th out of a total of 227 finishers, and covering the five-kilometre course
