James Bennett, from Striders of Croydon, had an excellent run in the recent Dublin Marathon. He finished 78th out of more than 12000 finishers, recording a personal best 2 hours 48 minutes 29 seconds, which lifted him to tenth place in Striders’ all-time club rankings. Striders of Croydon produced an excellent team performance to place second in the East Surrey League’s annual cross-country race at Lloyd Park on Saturday. Three members of Striders of Croydon competed in the Surrey Masters Cross-Country Championships at Richmond Park on Saturday. The club’s oldest competitor, Kevin Burnett, ran very well to place second in the over-75 race, covering the four-mile course in 45 minutes 21 seconds.
