Box Hill Fell Race
Striders of Croydon produced some good performances in the Box Hill Fell Race on Saturday. They were led by Harry Madgwick-Lawton who placed 32nd of the 259 finishers, completing the 12-kilometre course in 62 minutes 44. Phil Coales was 39th (63:23) and Martin Filer 56th (65:23). Andy Perks was eighth in the M50 age-group and 98th overall (68:52), while Stephen Kennefick was 137th (73:23). Consuelo Kennefick ran very well to place second in the W50 age-group and 149th overall (74:52). Simon Webster was 159th (76:09), while Ally Whitlock was sixth in the W40 age-group and 165th overall (76:59). John O’Mahony was 169th (78:10) and Gemma Halliday 236th (90:59).
Earlier on Saturday, Striders had 106 finishers in the various weekly parkruns. Ellyw Evans was the first woman to finish the Delftse Hout parkrun in south Holland, placing 13th overall (25:06). Tom Gillespie was third out of 183 finishers in the South Norwood parkrun (19:35). In the Lloyd parkrun, Cindy Siu was the fourth woman to finish, placing 36th overall (24:42), while Selena Wong was the fifth woman to finish, placing 43rd overall (25:05). Angela Seesurrun was the fifth woman to finish the South Norwood parkrun, placing 59th overall (24:55). Striders’ fastest time of the day came from Erik Schrijnemaekers who was seventh out of 724 finishers in the Bromley parkrun (17:53), one place ahead of club colleague Luke Burden (17:59).
In the RunThrough Richmond Park Half Marathon, Steve Massey placed third in the M55 age-group and 80th overall (1:45:07).
