British Masters Indoor Championships
Steve Corfield, from Striders, had an excellent run in the British Masters Indoor Championships at Lee Valley on Saturday. He won the B 800 metres in 2 minutes 21.31 seconds, which would have placed him fifth in the A race and was less than 1.3 seconds slower than the bronze medallist.
Earlier on Saturday, Striders had a total of 96 finishers in the various weekly parkruns. Consuelo Kennefick was the first female finisher in the Riddlesdown parkrun, placing 14th overall (23:33). Conor O’Hara-Barrett was second out of 175 finishers in the South Norwood parkrun (19:11). Andy Perks was second out of 40 finishers in the Foots Cray Meadows parkrun (19:29). Matthew Stone was third out of 160 finishers in the Lloyd parkrun (20:11), while Erik Schrijnemaekers was sixth (20:50). Striders had two of the first three female finishers in the Lloyd parkrun, with Cindy Siu placing 33rd overall (25:37) and Debra Bourne placing 35th overall (25:55). Ruth Pearson was the fifth woman to finish the Foots Cray Meadows parkrun, placing 22nd overall (28:18). Lee Flanagan was sixth out of 125 finishers in the Durlston Country Park parkrun in Dorset (22:31). Linda Daniel was the sixth woman to finish the Lymington parkrun, placing 40th overall (27:58). Ellyw Evans was the seventh woman to finish the Catford parkrun, placing 45th overall (25:14). Tim Lawlor was eighth out of 142 finishers in the Tramore Valley parkrun in Ireland (20:09).
On Sunday morning, Zoe Siu had an excellent run to take first place out of 39 finishers at the Lloyd junior parkrun, completing the two-kilometre course in 9 minutes 18. Her sister Hazel Siu was the second female finisher, placing sixth overall (10:40).
