Striders of Croydon faced strong opposition in their first Southern Veterans League match of the season, at Kingsmeadow Stadium. Their men did well to place fourth of the seven competing clubs, while their women were fifth. Striders of Croydon produced some good performances in the Sutton 10-kilometre road race on Sunday. They were led by Graeme Drysdale who ran well to place 65th out of the 458 finishers in 39 minutes 17 seconds. Andy Perks was next home in 79th (40.01), with Mick Turner completing the scoring trio in 85th (40.11).
