Damian and Karen lead Striders at Elmbridge 10K
Damian Macenhill, from Striders of Croydon, ran well to place 36th out of 425 finishers in the Elmbridge 10-kilometre road race on Sunday, recording 36 minutes 52 seconds. Damian was fifth in the over-40 category. Ernie Hann, in his second race of the weekend, also ran well to place 78th (39.30), while marathon specialist Sunjay Bhogal completed the scoring team in 152nd (43.57). Damian’s sister-in-law Karen Macenhill led Striders’ women, placing 72nd in the women’s race and 308th overall (53.22). Karen Peake was 332nd (55.52) and Kim Ford completed the scoring team in 379th (60.56).
On the previous day Ernie Hann had placed second of 99 finishers in the weekly parkrun in Lloyd Park, recording 19 minutes 30. Club colleague Greg Williams was fourth (19.54). Striders had a total of 39 finishers in the various local parkruns.
