Damian and Serena win muddy parkruns at Lloyd Park
Damian Macenhill, from Striders of Croydon, ran well to gain a convincing win in the Christmas Day parkrun at a waterlogged Lloyd Park. He finished more than a minute clear of his nearest rival, recording 20 minutes 40 seconds. Serena Stracey completed a Striders double by being the first woman to finish, placing sixth overall in 24 minutes 11. Alan Dolton was first in the over-50 category, placing seventh overall (24.18), and Barry Finch was second in the over-60 category (26.35).
On New Year’s Day, with less water but with plenty of mud on the course in Lloyd Park, Lee Flanagan ran well to place second of the 67 finishers in 20 minutes 01, while Serena Stracey was the second woman to finish, placing 21st overall in 24 minutes 22.
Meanwhile Yasmin Anderson competed in the Kingscliff parkrun in New South Wales and ran well to finish third overall (and first woman) in 22 minutes 01.
