Dave Shaw first at Lloyd Parkrun
56-year-old Dave Shaw, from Striders of Croydon, had an excellent run to finish first out of more than 200 runners in the weekly parkrun in Lloyd Park on Saturday. In warm and windy conditions, he outpaced all his younger rivals and completed the undulating five-kilometre course in 18 minutes 45 seconds, which was only nine seconds outside the over-55 course record set by David Ogden of South London Harriers in 2015. Club colleague Robert Lines was second (19:08). On the same day, Lee Flanagan was second in the Worcester parkrun (18:24), while Andrea Jeffries was the second woman to finish the South Norwood parkrun, placing 43rd overall (25:09). Alastair Falconer was third in the Riddlesdown parkrun (17:28) with Iain Harrison fourth (17:45). Serena Stracey was the third woman to finish the Hastings parkrun, placing 26th overall (24:08), while Simon Ambrosi was fourth in the Bromley parkrun (18:41). Striders had a total of 64 finishers in the various weekly parkruns.
