Ernie prepares for marathon with runners-up spot
Ernie Hann, from Striders of Croydon, continued his preparations for the Portsmouth Marathon by placing second out of 87 finishers in the weekly parkrun in Lloyd Park on Saturday. He covered the muddy five-kilometre course in 20 minutes 03 seconds. Club colleague Paul Cripps was 11th in 22 minutes 07. Meanwhile Steve Winter was second in the Nonsuch parkrun, recording 18 minutes 25.
Striders’ most prolific racer. Krzysztof Klidzia, ran well to place 11th out of 119 finishers in the Pirie 10-mile cross-country race at Farthing Downs last Sunday, recording 62 minutes 11 seconds and placing third in the over-40 category. He also placed fifth in Saturday’s Crystal Palace parkrun in 19 minutes 08. Nigel Davidson was eighth in the Riddlesdown parkrun (20.48).
