Iain and Lee pull Striders to 9th in relay
Striders of Croydon faced strong opposition in the annual Priory Relays at Reigate on Saturday, They did well to place ninth out of 41 teams. Ernie Hann ran the first leg in 15 minutes 58, handing over to Lee Flanagan who ran 15 minutes 38. On the third leg Iain Harrison ran 15 minutes 27 which was Striders’ fastest time of the day. Damian Macenhill ran 16 minutes 10 on the final leg.
Striders’ B team were 21st. Taylor Huggins ran 16 minutes 37 on the first leg and was followed by Barry White (17.06), Mick Turner (17.48) and Chris Morton (17.47).
Meanwhile Serena Stracey was the third woman to finish at the weekly parkrun in Lloyd Park, placing 38th overall in 24 minutes 06. Striders had a total of 35 finishers in the various local parkruns.
