James and Alan fly the flag for Striders in Edinburgh and Birmingham
James Bennett, from Striders of Croydon, had an excellent run to place second out of 2683 finishers in the Edinburgh Half Marathon on Sunday. He recorded 73 minutes 22 seconds, which is only 95 seconds outside his own club record for the distance.
In the British Masters Championships at Birmingham on Saturday, Alan Dolton placed fifth in the M55 1500 metres (5.53.95). On the same day Krzysztof Klidzia was second in the Roundshaw parkrun (18.07), while Graeme Drysdale was third in the Riddlesdown parkrun (19.40), and Steph Upton was the second woman to finish the Lloyd parkrun, placing 35th overall (22.33). Striders had a total of 37 finishers in the various weekly parkruns (14 at Lloyd Park and 23 at other venues). In the Hull Marathon on Sunday, Sunjay Bhogal placed 113th out of 541 finishers in a personal best 3 hours 35 minutes 18 seconds.
