James hits the target for Striders in Nottingham
James Bennett, from Striders of Croydon, had an excellent run in the recent Robin Hood Half-Marathon at Nottingham. He placed 23rd in a large field in a personal best of 75 minutes 53 seconds, which lifts him to eighth place in the club’s all-time rankings. On the same day second-claim member Nick Kyritsis was the first over-60 to finish in the Robin Hood Marathon, recording 3 hours 30 minutes 19 seconds.
Ernie Hann ran well to place 16th of 229 finishers in the Sri Chinmoy 10-kilometre road race in Battersea Park on Saturday, recording a new personal best of 35 minutes 59 seconds. Club colleague Simon Ambrosi was 23rd (37.47) with Simon Pannell 53rd (40.20), Colin Hann 56th (40.34), Steve Massey 59th (40.56) and Darren Woods 75th (42.52). Striders also had 48 finishers in the various local parkruns. Their best placings came from Graeme Drysdale who was sixth at Riddlesdown (19.29) and Becky Laurence who was the fourth woman at Kings Lynn (22.24).
