Jemma Zakariyyau finishes second in the senior women’s Surrey Road League final table
Lee Flanagan, from Striders of Croydon, placed first out of 238 finishers in the weekly parkrun at Lloyd Park on Saturday. This was the third successive week that he had taken first place in this event. He covered the undulating five-kilometre course in 19 minutes 09 seconds. Club colleague Jenny Rowe was the second woman to finish, placing 25th overall in 22 minutes 31. On the same day, Marianne Chua was the first woman to finish the South Norwood parkrun, placing 22nd overall in 23 minutes 02. Michael Davis was second in the Riddlesdown parkrun (19:08), while Krzysztof Klidzia was third in the Roundshaw parkrun (19:03) and Andy Perks was third in the Bethlem Royal Hospital parkrun (19:35). Niamh Vincent was the third woman to finish the Ashton Court parkrun in Bristol, placing 39th overall (21:08). Striders had a total of 81 finishers in the various weekly parkruns.
The final Surrey Road League tables were published this week and confirmed that Striders’ women placed ninth of the 36 clubs in the league, while their men were thirteenth. Individually, Jemma Zakariyyau placed second in the senior women’s table.
