Jenny Rowe first woman to finish Lloyd Parkrun
Jenny Rowe, from Striders of Croydon, had an excellent run to be the first woman to finish the weekly parkrun
in Lloyd Park on Saturday. She placed 31st overall out of 261 finishers, completing the undulating five-
kilometre course in 22 minutes 54 seconds. Club colleague Sophia Sachedina was the first woman to finish
the Roundshaw parkrun, placing 32nd overall (23:46). The best performance from Striders’ men came from
veteran Krzysztof Klidzia, who was fourth in the Beckenham Place parkrun in 18 minutes 15 seconds. Striders
had a total of 71 finishers in the various weekly parkruns (27 at Lloyd Park and 44 at other venues).
In the Surrey Schools Cross-Country Championships, at Reigate on Saturday, Christopher Finch ran well to
place 29th of 96 finishers in the under-13 boys’ race, recording 12 minutes 50 seconds. His older sister Lucy
Finch was 88th in the junior girls’ race.
This Saturday (26th) Striders will be competing in the South of England Cross-Country Championships, at
Parliament Hill Fields.
