Joanne Campbell first woman at Frosses 5k
Peter Mills, from Striders of Croydon, ran very well to place 13th out of 885 finishers in the Maidenhead 10-mile road race on Good Friday, recording 57 minutes 02 seconds. On the same day, Joanne Campbell was the first woman to finish the Frosses 5-kilometre road race in Donegal, recording a personal best 22 minutes 28.
On the following day, Alastair Falconer ran well to finish first at the Riddlesdown parkrun, recording 17 minutes 42 seconds. Paul Finch was fourth (18.34) and Martin Filer fifth (18.55). Striders had three of the first four finishers in the parkrun in Lloyd Park, with Krzysztof Klidzia second (17.47), Rob Lines third (18.15) and Simon Ambrosi fourth (18.39). Lucy Finch was the fourth woman to finish the Roundshaw parkrun, placing 62nd overall (24.18). Striders had an impressive total of 75 finishers in the various weekly parkruns (33 at Lloyd Park and 42 at other venues).
On Easter Monday Debra Bourne ran well to record 3 hours 54 minutes 51 in the Boston Marathon.
