Lee hits his target at Half Marathon

Reigate Priory relays, Run to the Beat Half marathon – 28th October & 3rd November 2012

Striders of Croydon faced strong opposition in the Reigate Priory Relays on Saturday. Their women placed 13th out of 23 teams, with their fastest time coming from Steph Upton who covered the undulating four-kilometre course in 19 minutes 4 seconds. Josephine Thompson ran 19 minutes 26 while Ella Hassett ran 22 minutes 23. Striders’ men’ placed 20th out of 44 teams, with their fastest time coming from Ernie Hann who ran 16 minutes 26. The other team members were Gearoid Quigley (17.29), Mick Turner (17.22) and Taylor Huggins (17.02) Striders’ B team were 29th. This team comprised Sunjay Bhogal (17.58), Paul Cripps (18.36), Chris Morton (17.19) and Dan Hassett (17.09). Meanwhile Lee Flanagan ran a personal best 75 minutes 48 seconds at the Greenwich (Run to the Beat) Half-Marathon, lifting him to sixth place in Striders’ all-time half-marathon rankings.
