Linda doubles-up for weekend of cross country races
Steph Upton, from Striders of Croydon, ran very well to place 26th of 173 finishers in the Surrey Womens Cross-Country League Division Two race at Nonsuch Park on Saturday. She covered the four-mile course in 28 minutes 10 seconds. Andrea Jeffries also ran well to place 50th (30.30) with Stephanie Moss next home in 68th (31.55). Linda Daniel was 120th (35.43), Julie Jordan 151st (40.31) and Victoria Legge 167th (44.50). Striders placed 16th of the 44 teams in the match.
Lee Flanagan ran well to win the weekly parkrun in Lloyd Park, covering the five-kilometre course in 18 minutes 43 seconds. Gearoid Quigley was ninth (21.07) and Paul Cripps 14th (21.49). Nigel Davidson was 11th in the Riddlesdown parkrun (20.23).
On Sunday Linda also completed the arduous and muddy Pirie 10. She completed the ten mile course at Farthing Downs in 1 hour 44 minutes and 28 seconds. Striders first finisher was Krzysztof Klidzia who finished 11th in 62 minutes and 11 seconds.
