Striders of Croydon had two of the first three finishers in the Riddlesdown parkrun on Saturday morning. Martin Filer placed second out of 77 parkrunners (21:17) while Stephen Kennefick was third (21:27).
Striders’ best female placing came from Niamh Vincent who was the second woman to finish the South Norwood parkrun, placing 14th overall out of 109 finishers (24:00). Striders’ men were led by Graham Hansen who placed third (20:49). Ellyw Evans was the fourth woman to finish, placing 19th overall (24:51).
Cindy Siu was the third woman to finish the Lloyd parkrun, placing 37th overall out of 156 finishers (25:47). Striders’ men were led by Lee Flanagan who placed fifth (20:01). Andy Perks placed sixth out of 116 finishers in the Roundshaw parkrun (20:30). Striders had a total of 110 finishers in the various weekly parkruns.
On Sunday morning, Erik Schrijnemaekers placed 96th out of more than 2700 finishers in the RunThrough London 10K from the Olympic Park in Stratford. He was eighth in the M45 age-group (39:14). Steve Massey was fifth in the M55 age-group and 218th overall (42:35), while Niamh Vincent was fourth in the W40 age-group and 243rd overall (43:12). They were followed by Damian Macenhill (45:44) and Michael Smaldon (50:26).
