parkrun galore!
Striders dominated the South Norwood parkrun on Saturday, with the first two male and the first two female finishers. James Rhodes placed first overall out of 150 finishers (18:04), one place ahead of club colleague Andrew Aitken (18:06). Kara Boaks was the first female finisher, placing eleventh overall (21:25), with Niamh Vincent placing 15th overall (22:04).
On the same day, Andy Perks was first in the Bethlem Royal Hospital parkrun (19:58), while Consuelo Kennefick was the first woman to finish the Riddlesdown parkrun, placing 15th overall (23:34). Striders had a total of 118 finishers in the various Saturday parkruns.
Kara Boaks and Niamh Vincent had also been the first two female finishers at South Norwood on Christmas Day. Kara placed tenth overall (21:55) with Niamh 20th overall (23:35). For Striders’ men, Andrew Aitken was second (18:45) with James Rhodes third (18:48). In the Lloyd parkrun, Phil Coales placed third (19:36), while Cindy Siu was the third woman to finish, placing 38th overall (24:50). John Punt, who placed 25th (23:03), became the sixth member of Striders to complete 500 parkruns.
Two days earlier, Phil Coales placed first out of 417 finishers in the Richmond parkrun (17:36). Consuelo Kennefick was the first woman to finish the Riddlesdown parkrun, placing 16th overall (23:11). Cindy Siu was the second woman to finish the Roundshaw parkrun, placing 36th overall (24:57).There were third places for Martin Filer in the Riddlesdown parkrun (19:39) and John O’Mahony in the South Norwood parkrun (21:16). Angela Seesurrun was the third woman to finish the South Norwood parkrun (26:19), while Nadine Pryce was the third woman to finish the Lloyd parkrun (29:15).
In the Serpentine 5K at Hyde Park on Friday, Liam Redmond placed 74th out of 255 finishers (19:03).
