Tatsuya Okamoto, from Striders of Croydon, ran very well to place first out of 188 finishers at the Hasenheide parkrun in Berlin on Saturday. He completed the five-kilometre course in 17 minutes 27.
For the second successive week, Striders had the first two female finishers at the South Norwood parkrun. Niamh Vincent was the first woman to finish, placing 17th overall out of 202 finishers (21:24), while Ellyw Evans was the second woman to finish, placing 21st overall (22:03). Becky Laurence was the first woman to finish the Pymmes parkrun in Edmonton, placing 19th overall out of 134 finishers (22:44). Cindy Siu was the first woman to finish the Lloyd parkrun, placing 34th overall out of 206 finishers (24:44).
Erik Schrijnemaekers was second in the Pymmes parkrun (19:03) with Peter Laurence third (19:57). Consuelo Kennefick was the second woman to finish the Banstead parkrun, placing 33rd overall out of 216 finishers (22:48). Steve Corfield was third in the Lloyd parkrun (19:36), while Andy Perks was third out of 97 finishers in the Bethlem Royal Hospital parkrun (21:19). Striders’ fastest time of the day came from Phil Coales who was 25th out of 924 finishers in the Battersea parkrun (17:06). Striders had an impressive total of 110 finishers in the various weekly parkruns.
