PBs & parkruns!
Jennifer Gutteridge, from Striders of Croydon, ran very well to be the 12th woman to finish the RunThrough Victoria Park Half-Marathon on Sunday. Her time of 92 minutes 30 was a new personal best, and lifted her to tenth place in Striders’ all-time women’s rankings. In the RunThrough 10K at the same venue, Peter Johnson placed 32nd overall and first in the M55 age-group (40:30).
On the same day, Erik Schrijnemaekers ran well to record a personal best of 3 hours 08 minutes 29 in the Barcelona Marathon. He was followed by clubmates Chris Green (4:05:25) & Maryna Sedin (4:09:15) who also ran PBs.
On Saturday, Nikki Javan was the 11th woman to finish the inaugural Centurion Running Hundred Hills 50km in the Chilterns. She completed the hilly course in 5 hours 39 minutes 08.
Striders had four of the first six finishers in the Lloyd parkrun on Saturday. They were led by Simon Ambrosi who placed third in 20 minutes 22. Steve Corfield was fourth (20:25), Tom Gillespie fifth (20:32) and Matthew Stone sixth (20:50). Cindy Siu was the second woman to finish, placing 27th overall (25:52).
Elsewhere, Phil Coales was second in the Durlston parkrun in Dorset (22:14). Stephen Kennefick was fourth in the Riddlesdown parkrun (21:43), where his wife Consuelo Kennefick was the second woman to finish (24:27). Lauren Cotton-Walkington was the second woman to finish the Hastings High School parkrun, placing 23rd overall (24:50). Geoff Pennells was fourth in the Sunshine Beach parkrun at Otsu in Japan (33:38). Steve Massey was fifth in the Tidworth parkrun (21:14), while Conor O’Hara-Barrett was fifth in the Bethlem Royal Hospital parkrun (22:15). Ellyw Evans was the sixth woman to finish the Mile End parkrun, placing 68th overall (22:51). Striders’ fastest time of the day came from Graeme Drysdale, who was ninth in the Bromley parkrun (17:50). Striders had a total of 82 finishers in the various weekly parkruns.
