Rachel keeps getting quicker for Striders
Rachel Lindley, from Striders of Croydon, ran well to be the first woman to finish at the weekly parkrun in Lloyd Park on Saturday. She beat most of her male rivals, finishing fifth overall and covering the undulating five-kilometre course in 20 minutes 08 seconds. This was the third time in the last four weeks that Rachel has been the first woman finisher. Striders’ men were led by Ernie Hann who finished third in 18 minutes 57. Sam O’Dongo was seventh (20.27) and Simon Webster tenth (20.32). Meanwhile Steve Winter was third in the Nonsuch parkrun (18.06) and Chris Morton was sixth in the Crystal Palace parkrun (20.26). Striders had a total of 35 finishers in the various local parkruns.
