RunThrough Chase The Moon 10K
Striders of Croydon had the first two finishers in the Bethlem Royal Hospital parkrun on Saturday morning. James Rhodes placed first out of the 103 finishers, recording 18 minutes 38, while Andrew Aitken was not far behind in second place (18:47). Niamh Vincent also ran well to be the first woman to finish the South Norwood parkrun, placing 20th overall out of 197 finishers (22:27). Nathan Robertshaw was second out of 177 finishers in the Roundshaw parkrun (18:53). Cindy Siu was the fourth woman to finish the Lloyd parkrun, placing 41st overall (24:57), while Selena Wong was the fifth woman to finish, placing 58th overall (26:13). Erik Schrijnemaekers was fifth out of 125 finishers in the Wormwood Scrubs parkrun (19:54). Striders had an impressive total of 132 finishers in the various weekly parkruns.
On Thursday evening, Striders had 18 finishers in the RunThrough Chase The Moon 10K at Stratford. They were led by Marc Burrows who placed 22nd out of 443 finishers (37:53). Peter Johnson was first in the M60 age-group, placing 46th overall (41:06). Simon McHardy was 58th (42:53), Keith Murkin 88th (45:18) and Darren Woods 90th (45:34). Kara Boaks was the eleventh woman to finish, placing first in the W35 age-group and 93rd overall (45:35). She was followed by James Burree (46:23), John O’Neill (48:23), Michael Smaldon (50:29), Yasmin Anderson (55:24), Matt Byrne (55:24), Neil McDonough (61:39), John Boaks (62:10), Elsa Santana (63:03), Terry Buxton (63:51), Annabel Crouch (71:13), James Harrison (73:07) and Donna Murkin (77:28).
On Sunday morning, Toby Lee-Smith placed second out of 106 finishers in the Lloyd junior parkrun, completing the two-kilometre course in a personal best 8 minutes 16. Zoe Siu was the first female finisher, placing fourth overall (8:45).
