Steph Upton finishes 1st lady at Kingdom parkrun in her last run as a Strider
Steph Upton, from Striders of Croydon, ran very well to be the first woman to finish the Kingdom parkrun at Penshurst in Kent on Saturday. She placed 22nd overall out of 78 finishers, recording 25 minutes 03. Club colleague Peter Laurence was fifth (21:57). Phil Coales was fourth in the Mile End parkrun (17:53), while Robert Lines was fourth in the Riddlesdown parkrun (19:14). Cindy Siu was the fourth woman to finish the Roundshaw parkrun, placing 37th overall (24:48). Steve Corfield was fifth in the Lloyd parkrun (19:29), while Christopher Finch was fifth in the Squerryes Winery parkrun (20:37). Striders had a total of 88 finishers in the various weekly parkruns.
Striders had three of the first four finishers in the Lloyd junior parkrun on Sunday. Daniel Finch was second in a personal best of 7 minutes 53, with Thomas Karelis third (8:06) and Thomas Finch fourth (8:33). Zoe Siu was the sixth female finisher (10:14) with Hazel Siu 10th (11:58) and Elena Ambrosi 12th (12:15).
Also on Sunday, Niamh Vincent was the 49th woman to finish the Asics London 10-kilometre road race, recording exactly 43 minutes. She was followed by Stephen Allport (45:27) and Stephen Siu (48:16).
In the World Masters Cross-Country Championships, held in hot conditions at Tampere in Finland, Alan Dolton was 26th in the M65 race (47:35).
