• Striders & Harriers mobmatch 2025

    The eleventh annual ‘mob match’ between Croydon Harriers and Striders of Croydon took place on Saturday morning, in conjunction with the South Norwood parkrun. In muddy conditions, Harriers had the first three finishers with Phil Symonds first (17:41), Isaac Flanagan second (17:52) and Kyron-Bailee Burke third (18:14). Striders were led by Phil Coales who placed fourth (18:34), while Scott Miller of Harriers was fifth (18:37). Striders had the next two finishers with Conor O’Hara-Barrett sixth (18:44) and James Rhodes seventh (18:49). The first under-15 to finish was Ernesto Kelly of Harriers who placed eighth overall (19:04). Henry Butt of Harriers was first in the M40 age-group and ninth overall (19:17). Ashley George of Harriers was tenth (19:29), while Nathan Robertshaw of Striders was eleventh (19:30). Lee Flanagan of Striders was first in the M50 age-group and 12th overall (19:33). Andy Perks of Striders was first in the M55 age-group, placing 18th overall (20:45). Graham Hansen of Striders was first in the M60 age-group and 23rd overall (21:02).

    The first female finisher was Niamh Vincent of Striders, who placed 31st overall (21:28). Charlotte Nusca of Striders was the third female finisher, placing 46th overall (22:22). Aida Palomares-Dominguez of Harriers was the fourth female finisher and the first under-15 girl to finish, placing 60th overall (23:29). Katherina Warren of Harriers was the sixth female finisher, placing 70th overall (24:04), while Jenny Forde of Harriers was the seventh female finisher, placing 81st overall (24:46). Ellyw Evans of Striders was the eighth female finisher, placing 83rd overall (24:51), and Leonie Hondeborg of Striders was the tenth female finisher, placing 87th overall (25:12).

    Steve Smith of Striders was first in the M65 age-group, placing 77th overall (24:28). Oscar Sion Smalley of Harriers was the first under-11 to finish, placing 108th overall (26:45). Miriam de Souza of Harriers was first in the W50 age-group, placing 124th overall (28:08). Angela Seesurrun of Striders was first in the W55 age-group, placing 143rd overall (29:57). Colin Cotton of Striders was first in the M75 age-group, placing 160th overall (31:17). Wendy Crome of Striders was first in the W60 age-group, placing 182nd overall (33:41). Sandra Francis of Striders was first in the W65 age-group, placing 242nd overall (40:42).

    In total, Striders had a record number of 70 finishers, of whom 31 finished in under 25 minutes, while Harriers had 44 finishers, of whom 25 finished in under 25 minutes. Under the ‘Thornbury’ method whereby all 114 finishers score, Striders won by 3786 points to 2769. Scoring 44-a-side, Striders won by 2156 points to 1760. In the overall series, Striders now lead by eight wins to three.
