Striders win the third monthly parkrun mob match!
Striders of Croydon produced an excellent team performance at Lloyd Park on Saturday to win their third monthly mob match against Epsom, Collingwood and Tadworth. They were led by Phil Coales who ran well to place second of the 206 finishers, recording 18 minutes 28. Justin Macenhill was fourth (19:01) with Lee Flanagan fifth (19:11), Oliver Watts seventh (19:28), Simon Ambrosi tenth (20:22), Conor O’Hara-Barrett 11th (20:37), Tom Vincent 12th (20:39), Steve Massey 15th (20:44), Tom Gillespie 17th (20:50), Kerim Suruliz 18th (20:51), Graeme Drysdale 20th (21:21) and Marc Burrows 21st (21:22).
Striders’ women were led by Consuelo Kennefick who was the second woman to finish, placing 33rd overall (22:20). Zoe Williams was the fourth woman to finish (24:26) with Kate Marshall sixth (24:31), Debra Bourne eighth (26:56), Anna O’Sullivan ninth (27:04), Nadine Pryce tenth (27:14), Angela Seesurrun 13th (27:56), Hannah Musk 15th (28:45), Zoe Siu 16th (29:02) and Cindy Siu 17th (29:03). Striders had a total of 63 finishers.
Five Striders won gold medals in the Surrey Masters Championships at Kingsmeadow on Sunday. Steve Corfield won gold in both the M60 800 metres and the M60 1500 metres. Sandra Francis won gold in both the W65 long jump and the W65 3000 metre walk. Matthew Stone won gold in the M60 5000 metres, while Nikki Javan won gold in the W40 5000 metres and Alan Dolton won gold in the M65 800 metres. Lorraine Hunte won silver in the W65 100 metres.
At Wimbledon Park on Wednesday, James Rhodes set a new personal best of 4 minutes 19.13 seconds for 1500 metres, placing 13th in his heat.
