Super-veteran Kevin is runner-up at Richmond
Surrey Masters cross country championships, Liverpool Marathon, Titsey Trail & parkruns – 13th & 14th October 2012.
73-year-old Kevin Burnett, from Striders of Croydon, ran well to finish second in the over-70 age group in the Surrey Masters Cross-Country Championships, at Richmond Park on Saturday afternoon. He covered the six-kilometre course in 42 minutes 22 seconds.
Krzysztof Klidzia had a busy weekend, racing twice and placing in the first four each time. On Saturday morning he finished fourth in the weekly parkrun in Lloyd Park, covering the muddy five-kilometre course in 18 minutes 35 seconds. Andy Marlow was fifth (19.22) with Simon Ambrosi sixth (19.29), Ernie Hann seventh (19.48) and Steve Harris 12th (20.53). On the following day Klidzia was second out of 316 finishers in the Titsey Trail 10-kilometre course, recording 39 minutes 41. Russell Harmsworth was 15th (43.11) and Chris Morton 16th (43.20). Steph Upton was the second woman to finish, finishing 33rd overall in 45 minutes 29. Meanwhile Darren Jackson completed the Liverpool marathon in 3 hours 24 minutes 44.
