Taylor leads Striders at Parliament Hill
Striders of Croydon faced strong opposition in the London Cross-Country Championships at Parliament Hill on Saturday. They were led by Taylor Huggins who placed 131st of the 289 finishers, covering the ten-kilometre course in 39 minutes 38. Barry White was 155th (40.34), Chris Morton 174th (41.28) and Simon Pannell 198th (42.59). The team placed 22nd.
Meanwhile Lee Flanagan placed second out of 119 finishers in the weekly parkrun at Lloyd Park. He covered the undulating course in 18 minutes 53, and was only beaten by former Surrey 5000m champion Richard Ward of Belgrave. Justin Macenhill was third in the Crystal Palace parkrun (18.47). Striders had a total of 33 finishers in the various local parkruns.
