Thames Path 100
Nikki Javan, from Striders of Croydon, ran well to be the fifth woman to finish the Thames Path 100-mile race, from Richmond-upon-Thames to Oxford, on Sunday. She completed the course in 23 hours 26 minutes 17.
On Saturday, Niamh Vincent was the first woman to finish the South Norwood parkrun, placing sixth overall out of 158 finishers (21:17). Susanna Lutman was the third female finisher, placing 41st overall (26:20), while Selena Wong was the fourth female finisher, placing 47th overall (26:50). At the same venue, Steve Smith became the third member of Striders to complete 600 parkruns.
Erik Schrijnemaekers was second out of 126 finishers in the Riddlesdown parkrun (20:37), while Thomas Karelis was second out of 83 finishers in the Forest of Dean parkrun (21:43). Cindy Siu was the second woman to finish the Lloyd parkrun, placing 35th overall (25:23). Marc Burrows was third out of 149 finishers in the Pymmes parkrun in Edmonton (18:48). Darren Woods was fourth in the Merthyr parkrun (21:38). Striders had a total of 115 finishers in the various weekly parkruns.
In the Blackheath & Bromley Open Meeting at Norman Park on Monday, Steve Corfield placed eleventh in the A 1500 metres (4:58.29) and fifth in his heat of the 800 metres (2:21.06). Steve Starvis was seventh in the same 800 metre heat (2:27.98), while Peter Johnson was tenth in the B 1500 metres (5:23.50) and sixth in his heat of the 800 metres (2:42.74).
In the Belfast City Marathon on Sunday, Sheena Hammond finished 15th in the W55 age-group, recording 4 hours 39 minutes 31.
Also on Sunday, Thomas Finch placed fifth out of 138 finishers in the Lloyd junior parkrun (8:36), while Zoe Siu was the third female finisher, placing 14th overall (9:23).
