• We’re back!

    Following on from guidance issued by England Athletics, we are delighted to be able to restart our club runs.
    .
    There will be two Tuesday speed sessions at 6:40 pm & 7:40 pm. These are on a first come first served basis & you MUST sign-up in advance. Members, please check your emails on Tuesday mornings for details of the sessions & how to sign-up.

    Our traditional Wednesday night club run will be at 6:30 pm & 7:30 pm & rather than four large groups we will have several smaller groups within each pace bracket. We are also pleased to launch a new group. Group 5 will be a ‘return to running‘ run/walk group & is aimed at runners who may not have run much during lockdown & want to ease back into regular miles as well as those who are coming back from injury.

    For now, the format of Wednesday runs will be as follows:
    .
    • Groups will be a maximum of 10 (1 leader plus 9 runners), everyone in that group must socially distance and not jump between groups.
    • Each paced group will be divided into subgroups depending on how many leaders are available. For example Group 1A, Group 1B, Group 2A, Group 2B, and so on…
    • You will be asked to sign-up prior to 3 pm on the Wednesday of the run. If you’re not booked on, you will not be able to run and asked to leave. Booking is on a first-come, first-served basis. Members, you will receive an email Monday evening with sign-up details.
    • If a place is not available, keep checking in case one becomes free.
    • Groups will meet at different locations within Lloyd park ready to run at the booked time slot, the clubhouse remains closed.
    • Stretching/cool down is at the discretion of the leader and must be kept in the group.
    • A first aid kit containing face mask, gloves, etc, will be carried by each run leader. If first aid is required during the run, PPE must be used.
    • There will be the usual 40-minute option to turn back after 20 minutes, this may need to be self-navigated.
    • Most importantly… Have fun!

    Our traditional Sunday morning club run will be returning very soon & will be organised under the same format as the Wednesday run.
